Abstract
Bu çalışmanın amacı, diş hekimliği korkusunu ölçen Diş Hekimliği Korkusu Ölçeğinin (DKÖ) geçerlik ve güvenirliğini incelemektir. Araştırmaya 925 orta öğretim öğrencisi katılmıştır. DKÖ’nün Cronbach Alfa katsayısı .90 değerinde bulunmuştur. Test tekrar test güvenirliği .96 değerindedir. İki yarım güvenirlik katsayısı .88 olarak elde edilmiştir. Diş Hekimliği Korkusu Ölçeği ile Corah Diş Hekimliği Kaygısı Ölçeği (CDAS) arasındaki korelasyon .53 değerindedir. Genel olarak DKÖ’nün diş hekimliği korkusunu ölçebilecek geçerlik ve güvenirliğe sahip olduğu düşünülmektedir.

Abstract
The purpose of present study was to investigate reliability and validity of Dental Fear Inventory. 925 high school students participated in the study. The Cronbach’s Alpha for the DFI was .90. Computed test-retest reliability coefficient was .96. The split-half reliability coefficient was .88. The DFI correlated .53 with Corah’s Dental Anxiety Scale. In general, DKÖ was thought to have sufficiently high reliability and good validity. The scale’s reliability and validity values seem to justify its use as a measurement of dental fear.
