Distance education during Covid-19 pandemics, Experience of Ankara University School of Medicine

Abstract

Covid-19 pandemics, affecting whole world, lead to a new phase in the medical education in our country. In this sense, in accordance with Higher Education Council recommendations, distance education has been started in April 2019 in our medical school. Initially, video recordings of all theoretical lectures were carry out in distance learning platform of our university called as ANKUZEM and some lectures were also planned as live syncronous lectures. Examinations were held at the end of educational year as multiple choice questions. Following this, program has been organized in a student centered learning way for 2020-2021 educational year. In this sense, the students were asked to be prepared for live lectures by wathcing video records and reading recommended electronic resources. Live lectures have been carry out by interactive methods such as menti, cahoot, and quizz. The faculty members have been supported by informative meetings about program and interactive methods and by providing personel support by school management. The course has been following by educational management committies and improvements have been continiung by getting regular feedbacks.

Covid Pandemisi döneminde Uzaktan Tıp Eğitimi “Ankara Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Deneyimi”

Abstract

Tüm dünyayı etkileyen Covid-19 pandemisi ülkemizde tıp eğitiminde yeni bir dönem başlatmıştır. Bu kapsamda, mart ayında Yükseköğrenim kurumunun da önerisi ile fakültemizde nisan ayı başında uzaktan eğitim başlatılmıştır. Öncelikle tüm kuramsal derslerin üniversitemizin uzaktan eğitim platformu olan ANKUZEM de video kayıtları gerçekleştirilmiş ve bazı dersler de senkron-canlı olarak planlanmıştır. Sınavlar eğitim dönemi sonunda çoktan seçmeli olarak planlanmıştır. Bunu takiben 2020-2021 eğitim-öğretim dönemi için öğrenci merkezli eğitim çerçevesinde program yapılandırılmıştır. Bu kapsamda öğrencilerden ders kayıtlarını izleyerek ve önerilen elektronik kaynakları çalışarak ilgili canlı derslere hazırlıklı gelmeleri istenmiştir. Canlı dersler; menti, cahoot, ve quizz gibi etkileşimli yöntemler kullanılarak yapılmaktadır. Bu konuda; yönetim tarafından öğretim üyelerine bilgilendirme toplantıları yapılarak ve gerekli bireysel destek verilerek öğretim üyeleri desteklenmektedir. Süreç eğitim yönetimince takip edilmekte ve düzenli geri bildirimler alınarak iyileştirmeler yapılarak devam etmektedir.
