Evaluation of Problem Based Learning in Akdeniz University School of Medicine’s by Tutors

Abstract

BACKGROUND: The purpose of this study is to explore opinion of tutors who work in 2004-2005 education period, about benefits of topics in Problem Based Learning (PBL) at the students and to determine whether the tutors have positive thought about PBL or not. METHOD: This study is a cross sectional and descriptive one. Questionnaires were sent to a total 101 tutors. This questionnaire includes following subject; department of tutor, duration of tutorials and their opinion about PBL. RESULT: Positive thought of tutors about PBL is 70,2% for the “ do you think PBL is beneficial for students in general? question and 56,5% of tutors answered “yes” for “Are you satisfied with PBL” question. Also, most of tutors have positive thought about benefits of the topics of PBL for students. CONCLUSION: The result showed tutors have positive thoughts about PBL

Akdeniz Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesinde Uygulanan Probleme Dayalı Öğrenimin Eğitim Yönlendiricileri Tarafından Değerlendirilmesi

Abstract

AMAÇ: 2004-2005 eğitim öğretim döneminde PDÖ de görev alan eğitim yönlendiricilerinin PDÖ’nün öğrencilere belirli konu başlıklarında ne ölçüde katkı sağladığı ile ilgili düşüncelerini ve PDÖ den memnun olup olmadıklarını saptamaktır. YÖNTEM: Araştırma kesitsel ve tanımlayıcı bir araştırmadır. Toplam 101 eğitim yönlendiricisine bir anket gönderilmiştir. Bu ankette, eğitim yönlendiricisinin hangi bilim dalında görev aldığı, kaç kez eğitim yönlendiriciliği yaptığı, PDÖ den memnun olup olmadığı ve PDÖ ile ilgili görüş ve önerilerine yer verilmiştir. BULGULAR: Eğitim yönlendiricilerinin %70.2’sinin "PDÖ Öğrenci İçin Genel Anlamda Yararlı bir Uygulama mıdır?" sorusuna evet yanıtı verdiği, "PDÖ den Memnun musunuz?" sorusuna ise Eğitim Yönlendiricilerinin %56.5’i evet yanıtını verdiği bulunmuştur. Ayrıca Eğitim Yönlendiricilerinin büyük çoğunluğunun PDÖ’nün öğrencilere katkı sağladığını düşündüğü bulunmuştur. SONUÇ: Bu araştırma sonucunda Eğitim Yönlendiricilerinin büyük çoğunluğunun uygulanmakta olan PDÖ den memnun olduğu saptanmıştır.
