Abstract

Background: Starting by 2012 öğrenci memnuniyeti çalışmalarını ele aldıkları academic year, Student Scientific Research Club derlemelerinde en sık olarak orta ya da düşük of Marmara University School of Medicine has organized an elective summer clerkship program (SCP) with contributions from academicians. This study aims to gather a feedback to identify the factors that determine the preferences of summer clerkship participants and the effects of SCP on the general medical education, to evaluate whether SCP was satisfactory or had problems, and to encourage the development of similar activities

Marmara Tıp Öğrenci̇ Bi̇li̇msel Araştırma Kulübü (Öbak) Tarafindan Düzenlenen Yaz Stajları Programı: Bi̇r Memnuni̇yet Anketi̇ Çalışması

Abstract

Amaç: Öğrenci Bilimsel Araştırma Kulübü (ÖBAK), Marmara Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi bünyesinde öğretim üyelerinin katkıları ile 2012 yılı yaz döneminden itibaren Yaz Stajları Programı’nı (YSP) uygulamaya koymuştur. Çalışmanın amacı 2013 yaz döneminde tamamlanan stajlar hakkında katılımcılardan sistematik bir şekilde geri dönüşler toplayarak, tercihleri belirleyen faktörleri irdelemek, öğrencilerin beklentilerinin karşılanıp karşılanmadığını ortaya koymak, genel tıp eğitimine yaptığı etkiler ve yaşanan olası sorunlar hakkında veri oluşturmak, sorunlara çözüm önerileri geliştirmek ve benzer etkinliklerin yapılmasının önünü açmaktır.

Gereç ve Yöntem: 2013 yazında staj yapmış öğrencilere yaş, sınıf, cinsiyet, not ortalaması, hangi anabilim dalında staj yapıldığını sorgulayan anket verilmiş ve stajdan memnuniyet, staj yapma nedenleri, stajların öğrenciye katkısına ilişkin görüşler ve programa ilişkin aksaklıklar/olumsuzluklar sorgulanmıştır.

Bulgular: YSP’de staj yapmak isteyen 140 öğrenci tarafından 164 staj başvurusu yapılmıştır. Staj programına temel, dâhili ve cerrahi dallardan 26 anabilim dalı destek vermiştir. YSP’ye katılmış olan tüm öğrencilerin % 81’i (n=99) araştırmaya dâhil edilmiştir. Araştırmaya katılanların % 66’sını (n=65) kadınlar oluşturmaktadır. Katılımcıların % 58’i (n=57) katıldıkları stajdan genel memnuniyetlerini “epey/son derece” olarak ifade etmiştir. Yaz tatillerini staj yaparak değerlendirme nedenlerinde en yüksek puanları sırasıyla “ilgi duyduğu konular hakkında bilgi edinmek”, “laboratuvar, klinik, ameliyathane ortamlarına alışmak” ve “ileride derslerini ve doktorluk becerilerini geliştirmesine katkıda bulunacağı fikri” almıştır.

Sonuç: ÖBAK’ın düzenlediği seçmeli stajlar, klinik dönem öncesi dönemde öğrencilerin temel bilimlere ilişkin bilgilerin uygulamadaki kullanımını görerek hasta/hastane ortamı ve tecrübeli hekimlerle erken dönemde karşılaşma olanağı tanırken, klinik dönem öğrencileri için ilgi anlarına odaklanabilmek ve tecrübelerini arttırmak gibi olanaklar sağlamıştır.
