Abstract

A survey was conducted by Cukurova Agricultural Research Institute to detennine the general situation of cotton cultivation, the expectation and the problems of textile sector and to contribute to the researches on cotton fibre tecnological traits. The capasity, production tecnology, prefered fibre traits of cotton spinning industry taken part in the region were investigated and the problems of processing and the solving recommendations of the sector were detennined. As a result, it is indicated that the most important problem of cotton cultivated in Turkey is contamination. However the fibre length and the fibre strength of the cultivated cottons is suitable for the textile sector mostly it is detennined that cotton varieties with finer fiber are needed.
In addition it is indicated that using single bale testing as a classification system in standardization is very important for solving the problems of cotton textile industry in Turkey.

Abstract

Bu ara~tllma, Cukurova Tantnsal Ara~ttrma Enstitiisii tarafmdan biilgedeki pamuk tanmmm genel durumunu, tekstil sektiirilniln pamuk lifinden beklentilerini, illkemiz pamuklarmda ya~adlklan sorunlan ortaya ylkamlak ve pamugun lif teknolojik iizellikleri konusunda yapIiacak ara~tlrmalara alt yap I olu~tunnak amaclyla yaplhlll~tIr. Cah~mada, Biilge'de faaliyet giisteren tekstil i~letmelerinin mevcut kapasiteleri, kullandlklan ilretim teknolojisi, tercih ettikleri lif iizellikleri, illkemiz pamuklannda ya~anan sonmlar ve sektiiriln bu sonmlann yiizilmil yiiniinde iinerileri bir anket araclhglyla saptanml~tlr. Cah~ma sonucunda, ii1kemiz pamuklarmda kontaminasyonun, en iinemli sortIn olarak giiriildilgil; aylll zamanda ilretilen pamuklann lif uzunlugu ve lif kopma dayalllkhhgl yiinilnden tekstilcilerin taleplerini biiyilk orand a kar~Iiamakla birlikte daha ince lifli ye~itlere de ihtiyay duyduklan belirlenmi~tir.
