In this work, the shedding mechanism in the weaving machines has been reduced to a mass-spring system and assuming that the crank arm and the heald shaft are elastic, the differential equation of the motion has been written and a general solution obtained. As a result of the dynamical analysis applied a proposal has been made for the force acting on the warp along itsaxis. The theoretical result obtained verifies the views that the warp yam breaks more due to the shedding motion.
