01 this work, the lengthwise vibration of a rapier is exantined with the assnnzption that the rapier is a hoiiiogeitoits bar, and its critical angnlar velocity is detertitined by applying the Daniel Berno~tilli Method. The drive titechanisin is considered as three bar linkage tnechanism from which the kinematic analysis, the drive attgdar velocity is aiialitically calcnlated. Nitinerical exa~nples are given with a general disclissiort.
