Heat setting is obviously one of the most important steps in the preparation and finishing of thermoplastic fibres. In this study the effect of heat setting ofpolyester (polyethylene terephtalate) fibres on dye uptake and glass transition temperature (TJ is discussed. The sequence of heat setting and application conditions for a variety ofpolyester materials are studied in detail.
