Abstract
In recent years, the increase of using cotton fabrics shows an increase of dyeing cellulosic fabrics by cold pad-batch method. Usually, main preference of the method is the simplicity, economy, reproducibility and flexibility of the process. The only requirements for dyeing are a good quality pad mangle and a mechanism for batching the fabric. The fabric must be very well prepared before dyeing. Hence, chld and dry prepared fabrics are passed through a solution of dyestuff and alkali and the excess liquor expressed from the fabrics by a mangle. The fabric is batched and covered with a nylon sheet. Then it rotates slowly up to 24 hours depending on color and the nature of selected dye-stuffs. Followin~fzx.ation, any unfzxed dye will be washed off.
