High texturising speeds have been achieved by using the friction texturizing system instead of spindlets. With the increase in yarn speed, the non-texbrred sections in the yorn have begun to occur. These faults are uery difPcult to control, repeat with a certain period and also produce faulb on the fabrics after dyeing. As the yam speed increases, vibration8 and unstable running of the
yorn come into view. In order to prevent this problem, the yam tension and supporting (friction) have to be increased. This recent and irnporhnt problem is called surging (yam instability) and can be ouercome by paying attention to the POY (Pre Oriented Yarn) properties and also to the operating pammeten of Lexturizing. Recent labomtoy scale research and results of production scale tests made by the authors will be discussed in this paper.
