Precautions to be Taken Before, During and After the Operation in the COVID-19 Pandemic

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic, which deeply affected the world and our country, negatively affected planned surgical interventions and planned surgeries came to a halt. However, since it is not possible to postpone surgical interventions in life-threatening situations such as cancer and trauma, taking measures for infection control is necessary for patient and employee safety. The surgical nurse, who is an important member of the surgical team, is responsible for taking and applying the necessary precautions in the process from the patient's admission to the surgical clinic until his discharge. Although protocols and guidelines on how surgical nurses will carry out the surgical process during the pandemic process, there are differences in practices. In this review, it is aimed to discuss the precautions to be taken before, during and after surgery while continuing surgical treatment and care during the pandemic process of patients diagnosed with COVID-19, suspected or without COVID-19 in the light of the literature.

COVID-19 Pandemisinde Ameliyat Öncesi, Sırası ve Sonrası Dönemde Alınması Gereken Önlemler

Abstract

Dünyayı ve ülkemizi derinden etkileyen COVID-19 pandemisi planlı cerrahi girişimleri olumsuz etkilemiş ve planlı ameliyatlar durma noktasına gelmiştir. Ancak kanser ve travma gibi yaşamı tehdit eden durumlarda cerrahi girişimlerin ertelenmesi mümkün olamadığı için infeksiyon kontrolüne yönelik önlemlerin alınması hasta ve çalışan güvenliği için gereklidir. Cerrahi ekibin önemli bir üyesi olan cerrahi hemşiresi, hastanın cerrahi kliniğine kabulünden taburculuğuna kadar devam eden süreçte gerekli önlemleri almaktan ve uygulamaktan sorumludur. Pandemi sürecinde cerrahi hemşirelerinin cerrahi süreci nasıl yürüteceğine dair protokol ve rehberler yayınlanmış olsa da uygulamalarda farklıklar bulunmaktadır. Bu derlemede, COVID-19 tanılı, şüpheli veya COVID-19 olmayan hastaların pandemi sürecinde cerrahi tedavi ve bakımı sürdürülürken ameliyat öncesi, sırası ve sonrası dönemde alınması gereken önlemleri literatür ışığında tartışmak amaçlandı.
