Kanser Hastalarına Sağlık Hizmet Sunumunda Teletıp ve Tele-Hemşireliğin Artan Önemi

Year 2023, Volume: 4 Issue: 1, 66 - 74, 22.05.2023

Abstract

Increasing Importance of Telemedicine and Tele-Nursing in Health Service Delivery to Cancer Patients

Year 2023, Volume: 4 Issue: 1, 66 - 74, 22.05.2023

Abstract

The number of cancer patients is increasing all over the world. In cancer patients, the disease itself, the treatment methods used and comorbid factors make the health care services of these patients more difficult and complex. Telemedicine is an easy-to-apply and time-saving, cost-effective method. Telemedicine can used to continue the treatment and care of cancer patients, living far from the hospital, requiring out-of-hospital monitoring and follow-up, bedridden and elderly, who need special care. In this way, health care services of cancer patients can continue without interruption. The development of technology in the field of health care applications has led to tele-nursing. Tele-nursing; It is defined as the realization of nurse-health professional, nurse-nurse and nurse-patient interaction using telecommunication tools. In the studies, positive results of tele-nursing in cancer patient care are indicated. While there is a great international interest in the use of telemedicine and tele-nursing applications in the field of oncology, research in this field in our country is limited. The aim of this review; examine the telemedicine and tele-nursing applications offered to cancer patients, to understand the importance of the subject and to raise awareness in the field.
