INFLUENCE OF QUALITY CLASSES ON FIELD PERFORMANCE HOLMBOE] IN ANATOLIAN BLACK PINE [Pınus nigra Arn. subsp. pallasiana (Lamb.) Holmboe] SEEDLINGS
Abstract
In this study, the effects of seedling quality clases on field performance of bare-root Anatolian black pine seedling were investigated. For this purpose, five seedling quality class were formed according to height and root collar diameter from morphological seedling characteris in Anatolian black pine seedlings. This study, some morphological properties of the quality classes with post-planting performances of quality classes were studied. Field performance of seedlings in quality classes were assessed according to 3 yearly field data in the two experiment area. According to the result, the seedlings in quality class 4 (minimum collar diameter is 4 mm and minimum seedling height is 10 cm) was most proper to planting. Because best survival and growth were obtained from seedlings in quality class 4. The seedling which have greater root color diameter and height were done better diameter and height growth than the other. Planting shock lasted for two years in Anatolian black pine.
