Tarihi ahşap yapılarda bazı odun özelliklerinin belirlenmesinde kullanılabilecek tahribatsız muayene yöntemleri

Abstract

Ağaç malzeme doğal, yenilenebilir ve sürdürülebilir bir kaynak olarak binlerce yıldır insan hayatında olan ve hala da önemini koruyan bir yapı ve mühendislik malzemesidir. Eski çağlardan günümüze insanoğlu gerek barınma gerekse konforlu bir hayat için ağaç malzemeye ve bu malzemeden üretilen çok çeşitli ürünlere ihtiyaç duymuştur. Ülkemizde eski yapılarda ahşap kullanımına sıklıkla rastlanmaktadır. Anadolu’da gerek Selçuklu gerekse Osmanlı Dönemi’ne ait birçok ahşap mimari eser bulunmaktadır. Yapıda kullanılan ahşap malzemelerin uzun yıllar kullanımı sonrasında yorulma ve odun yapısında da eskime meydana gelmesi doğal bir sonuçtur. Bu nedenle ahşap yapılarda bakım ve restorasyon çalışmaları söz konusu olduğunda mevcut malzemenin direnci bakımından bir sorun olup olmadığının, malzemenin değişimine ihtiyaç olup olmadığının değerlendirilmesi gerekmektedir. Bu bilgileri verebilmek için klasik testler kullanıldığında belirli boyutta örneklerin alınması gereklidir. Fakat özellikle koruma altına alınan ahşap yapılarda, yapının tahrip edilmeden değerlendirilmesi, yapılacak çalışmaların yapıya zarar vermemesi gerekmektedir. Böyle yapılarda mümkün olabilecek en küçük boyutta örnek alınması ve mümkünse hiç örnek kesilmeden bir değerlendirme yapılması tercih edilmektedir. Buda ancak tahribatsız veya nispeten tahribatsız olarak gruplandırılan ve malzemenin bulunduğu konumda inceleme yapmaya imkan veren test yöntemleri (Tahribatsız Muayene Yöntemleri-TMY) ile mümkündür. Bu çalışma ile tarihi ahşap yapılarda ağaç malzemenin önemli bazı fiziksel, mekanik özelliklerin değerlendirilmesinde uygulanabilecek Tahribatsız Muayene Yöntemleri’ne yer verilmiştir. Non-destructive evaluation methods that can be used for the determination of some properties of historical wooden structures

Abstract

Wood as a natural, sustainable and renewable resource has been used for structural and engineering purposes in human life for thousands of years and still maintains its importance. Human beings have been used the wood and wooden products for both shelter and daily products which make their life more comfortable for ages. In our country, using wood as raw material in historical buildings is quite common in the past. There are many wooden architectures holdover from both Seljuk and the Ottoman periods in Anatolia. Aging and fatigue are natural results of wooden structures in time. Therefore, the material should be evaluated in terms of the resistance of material and necessity of any replacement when the wooden structure in the maintenance and restoration work. The conventional tests used to provide this information are required to take samples in certain sizes, but especially in cultural heritages, evaluation methods must be non-destructive. In such structures the general preference is for procedures without any sampling or limited sampling size and amount. Non-destructive evaluation (NDE) is the only way to meet this. In this study some Nondestructive Testing-Evaluation Methods, that can be applied in order to estimate some properties especially physical, mechanical and acoustic properties of wood in the historic wooden structures, introduced.
