Effects of ecological factors on some physical and physicochemical fruit characteristics of turpentine tree (Pistacia terebinthus L. subsp. palaestina (Boiss.) Engler)

Abstract

In present study, the relationships between physical and physicochemical characteristics of turpentine tree (P. terebinthus subsp. pallasiana Boiss. (Engler)) which has a native distribution in the lakes district of Turkey and ecological factors were analyzed. For this purpose, the study was conducted on total 19 plots of 7 different locations in the lakes district. The data obtained to determine the differences among sample plots were analyzed with the one-way ANOVA and Duncan multiple range test. Principal component analyses (PCA) and hierarchical cluster analyses (HCA) as multiple comparison tests were also applied to define effects of ecological factors on the physical and physicochemical characteristics of the fruits. In conclusion, according to the sample plots the physical and physicochemical characteristics of turpentine fruits showed a distinction. Temperature and elevation were found as the most affected ecologic factors on the physical and physicochemical characteristics of turpentine fruits in the district.

Menengiç (Pistacia terebinthus L. subsp. palaestina (Boiss.) Engler) meyvelerinin bazı fiziksel ve fizikokimyasal özellikleri üzerine ekolojik faktörlerin etkisi

Abstract

Bu çalışmada Göller yöresinde doğal yayılış gösteren menengiç (P. terebinthus subsp. pallasiana Boiss. (Engler)) türünün bazı fiziksel ve fizikokimyasal özellikleri ile ekolojik faktörler arasındaki ilişkilerin ortaya konulması amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaçla göller yöresinin 7 farklı yöre içerisinde toplam 19 örnek alanda çalışma yapılmıştır. Çalışmada örnek alanlar arası farklılığın belirlenmesi için elde edilen veriler tek yönlü varyans analizi ve duncan çoklu karşılaştırma testi ile değerlendirilmiştir. Meyve fiziksel ve fizikokimyasal özellikleri üzerine ekolojik faktörlerin etkisini ortaya koymak için ise çoklu değişken analizi olarak temel bileşen ve kümeleme analizleri kullanılmıştır. Sonuç olarak meyve fiziksel ve fizikokimyasal özelliklerinin örnek alanlara göre farklılık gösterdiği tespit edilmiştir. Yörede mevcut ekolojik faktörlerden ise özellikle sıcaklık ve yükseltinin menengiç meyvelerinin fiziksel ve fizikokimyasal özelliklerine etki eden en önemli değişkenler olduğu sonucuna varılmıştır.
