This study was conducted to determine the factors affecting family planning method preferences among married women aged 18–49. In this descriptive cross-sectional study, a face-to-face survey was administered to 303 married women. Seventy-three point two percent of participants used a family planning method, with the most commonly used methods being condoms (32.1%), withdrawal (28.5%), and intrauterine devices (23.5%). It was determined that women most frequently obtained methods on their own from pharmacies (34.8%) and markets (34.8%). Midwives/nurses were most frequently cited as the source of information. The most common reason for not using a method was current pregnancy, while the reason for use was not wanting another child. In conclusion, it was found that the most commonly used method was condoms, and that the reasons for preference were the reliability of the method, its lack of side effects, and the partner's preference.
