Peer Review Policy

Peer Review Process
The purpose of the peer review process, is to ensure the publication of qualified and original scientific works. For all articles published in the Turkish Journal of Weed Science, the peer review process operates as specified below.

Preliminary Control
All texts submitted to the journal, are first subjected to a preliminary evaluation by the Editor and Secretary. Texts that do not fall within our journal's publication scope or that do not comply with the format we specified in terms of content and form requirements for a scientific text format, whose similarity rate is above %20, may be rejected and a rejection decision given without initiating the refereeing process, or revision may be requested. Articles that are not statistically analyzed and interpreted, are returned at the preliminary examination stage.

Peer Review
In our journal, since a double-blind peer review process is applied at every stage of the process, no information revealing the identity of the author(s) such as name, institution, acknowledgments etc. should be included in sections other than the cover page.

Texts that pass the preliminary control stage, are sent by the secretary to the relevant field editor together with the similarity report. They are sent to xx referees determined by the editor. Referees are selected from the referee pool taking into account their fields of expertise.
Referees evaluate the texts sent to them; in terms of originality, methodology, contribution to literature, presentation of findings and support of results, and utilization of previous studies. Referees can accept the article, reject it, or request corrections from the authors regarding form and/or content. For an article to be accepted for publication, at least two referees must give positive opinion.

In case the referee or referees request correction, the author(s), taking into account the criticisms and suggestions made by the referees, complete the requested corrections within 30 days at the latest and send them again to the Publication Committee.

Texts not accepted for publication, are not returned to their authors.

At this stage, no article, without a positive referee report, can be accepted for publication by the editor.

Final Evaluation
For all articles that have received positive opinion from the referees and reached the publication stage, the final evaluation is carried out by the Editorial board. Articles that are given a 'Suitable for publication' decision, are placed in the publication order.

Peer Review Duration
