Bookshelf

Year 2019, Volume: 33 Issue: 2, 131 - 133, 30.06.2019

Abstract

"Bookshelf" was
published as the first book of the series ‘minima’, which was just launched in
February, 2019 by Ithaki Publishing. It is a book that does not claim
comprehensive but in-depth research from medieval Europe to the digital age.
Lydia Pyne -an anthropologist and a historian- presents this book, which is
read in a subtle way, trying to explain what books and libraries express in the
history of humanity and civilization. The place of reading culture in the
history of civilization offers a joyful journey with its unique style created
by non-chronological time-slot.
