Batılılaşma Sürecinde ‘Feminizm’in Tehdidi Altındaki Türk Aile Yapısını ve Evlilik Kurumunu Belgeleyen Roman: JÖN TÜRK
Abstract
Ahmet Mithat Efendi’nin yirmi beş kitaptan oluşan Letaif-i Rivâyât 1871-1894 serisinin üçüncü hikâyesi Felsefe-i Zenân başta olmak üzere ikiMeşrutiyet dönemi arasındaki süreçte yazılmış pek çok roman ve hikâyeOsmanlı aile yapısını ve evlilik kurumunu problematik bir mahiyette konuedinir. Tarihî roman kapsamında ele alınabilecek bu eserler arasında A.Mithat’ın Jön Türk 1910 adlı romanı, II. Meşrutiyet öncesi dönemde gelenekselOsmanlı aile yapısına ve ciddi bir değişim sürecine giren evlilik kurumunaışık tutması bakımından oldukça mühim bir tarihî belge özelliğini taşır.Bu çalışma, Türkiye’de romana konu olmuş Batılılaşma sürecindeki toplumsaldeğişmeyi ve kültürel yozlaşmayı sebep ve sonuçlarıyla ortaya koymayıesas almaktadır. Bu temelde Türk kültüründe çok önemli iki temel toplumsalkurumun -aile yapısı ve evlilik kurumu- Tanzimat’tan Cumhuriyet öncesinekadar geçirdiği değişim ve dönüşüm seyri ile bunun feminist eğilimler çerçevesindeözellikle Ahmet Mithat Efendi’nin Jön Türk adlı romanına nasıl yansıdığıaraştırılacaktır. Bunlardan başka, romanın derin yapısında görülen yabancılaşma,geleneğe isyan ve kuşak çatışması ayrıca değinilecek tematik unsurlarıoluşturacaktır. Genç kız ve erkekler arasında evlilik öncesi döneme aitilişkiler gibi dönemin başlıca temel problemleri arasında Türk aile yapısının veevlilik kurumunun nasıl biçimlendirilmeye çalışıldığı; erkek egemenli toplumsalyapıda değişen yeni şartlara paralel olarak kadının feminist yaklaşımı vehürriyet arayışı, araştırmamızın asıl yoğunlaşma alanını oluşturacaktır.
Abstract
Many novels and stories, which have been written in the process between theperiod of two constitutional monarchies, especially ”Felsefe-i Zenân“, which is thethird story of Ahmet Mithat Efendi’s ”Letaif-i Rivâyât“ 1871-1894 , the bookthat is consist of twenty five stories, deal with the family structure and the institutionof marriage in the Ottomans as a problematic issue. Among these works, ”Jön Türk“by A. Mithat 1910 that can be addressed within the scope of historical novel has aquality of a very important historical document in terms of throwing light on thetraditional family structure and the institution of marriage which has been goingthrough some serious change during the pre-II. Constitional Monarchy period.This study bases to expose the social change and the cultural corruption in theprocess of westernization in Turkey with the aspects casting the type of novel.Basically, how the change and the transformation, the two crucial basic socialinstitutions the family structure and the institution of marriage experienced fromTanzimat to pre-publican era are reflected within the framework of feminist trends,especially in the novel called ”Jön Türk“ by Ahmet Mithat Efendi will beresearched. Apart from these; the estrangement, the rebellion to tradition that are seenin the deep structure of the novel will constitute the other thematic issues to be alsoreferred. Among the main problems of the period, such as the relationships betweenyoung girls and boys before marriage, how Turkish family structure and theinstitution of marriage are tried to be formed, the feminist approach and the quest forfreedom of women in parallel to the changing conditions in male-dominated societywill constitute the basic concentration areas of our research.
