COMPARISON OF TOTAL ETCH SYSTEMS AND SELF ETCH SYSTEMS

Year 2016, Volume: 8 Issue: 1, 16 - 22, 22.03.2016

Abstract

Different adhesive systems with different chemical compositions are presented on the market continuously. Companies are trying to make them more powerful in mechanical and chemical properties and also trying to make them easier to use. For this, traditional multistep systems that include phosphoric acid, primer and adhesives are being tried to be exchanged by single package containing systems to make them better. Following the administration of a traditional total etch technique, the primary agent and the adhesive resin acids involve the implementation process. Simplified two-step total-etch technique combines the second and third stage, but the concept of the acid application process is separate. The self-etch adhesive concept is based on the use of polymerisable acidic monomers which performs simultaneous surface arrangement and the primary application. A self-etch adhesive in fact, is a mixture of self etching adhesive acidic monomer that contains cross linking monomers and mono-functional co-monomes. Nowadays most powerfull adhesives are made by strongly acidic adhesive monomers that effectively ensure a strong and durable adhesive layer by free radical copolymerization with the other monomeric components of the adhesive. At that time, the biggest problem of the one bottle adhesives, the hyrolytic instability of metacrylate monomers, comes to scene. The new components mono or difunctional acrylamides could solve the problems, maybe more strong compounds should be placed later. The longevity of attachment, especially in cases where the cavity margins are in dentin, a three stage form of ethanol-water based total etch adhesives are still considered to be the "gold standard" The aim of this article is the comparison of self etch and total etch systems.

TOTAL ETCH SİSTEMLERİN SELF ETCH SİSTEMLER İLE KARŞILAŞTIRILMASI

Year 2016, Volume: 8 Issue: 1, 16 - 22, 22.03.2016
