Turkish Journal of Middle Eastern Studies(TJMES) is a peer-reviewed journal (double blind review process), which is published biannually (in June and December). 

The publication languages of the journal are Turkish and English.

The accepted papers are published as Early Access before the completion of the relevant issue.

Manuscripts sent to TJMES should be prepared according to the sample template starting from 2024.

Turkish Journal of Middle Eastern Studies  aims to better make sense of the region and its people. One of its primary objectives is to present analyses about the Middle Eastern affairs from a Turkish perspective by shedding light upon Türkiye’s now a decade old activism in regional affairs.TJMES publishes academic studies that analyze political, economic and social dynamics and developments of the region. It prefers research written from multi-disciplinary perspectives and from a number of fields.

Coverage touches on a wide variety of topics, including but not limited to: 

  • International relations
  • Politics
  • Sociology
  • History
  • Philosophy
  • Security
  • Political Economy

TJMES also has a book review section that includes book reviews on all topics of the Middle East.

The articles submitted to our journals are screened for plagiarism screening (iThenticate) in order to prevent plagiarism. Similarity percentage must be less than 20% without references.

The average time during which the preliminary assessment of manuscripts is conducted: 15 days. 

The average time during which the reviews of manuscripts are conducted: 60 days. 

The average time in which the article is published: 90 days.
