Turkish Journal of Middle Eastern Studies(TJMES) is a peer-reviewed journal (double blind review process), which is published biannually (in June and December). 

The publication languages of the journal are Turkish and English.

The accepted papers are published as Early Access before the completion of the relevant issue.

Due to a high volume of submissions, our new manuscript submission system is temporarily closed. An announcement will be made once the submission schedule has been updated.

Manuscripts sent to TJMES should be prepared according to the sample template starting from 2024. Articles that are not prepared in accordance with the journal’s template will be rejected.

As of January 2026, our journal will no longer accept submissions in the book review format. Book review manuscripts submitted after this date will not be considered for evaluation.

Turkish Journal of Middle Eastern Studies  aims to better make sense of the region and its people. One of its primary objectives is to present analyses about the Middle Eastern affairs from a Turkish perspective by shedding light upon Türkiye’s now a decade old activism in regional affairs.TJMES publishes academic studies that analyze political, economic and social dynamics and developments of the region. It prefers research written from multi-disciplinary perspectives and from a number of fields.
 

Coverage touches on a wide variety of topics, including but not limited to:

  • Philosophy
  • Security
  • Political Economy

The articles submitted to our journals are screened for plagiarism screening (iThenticate) in order to prevent plagiarism. Similarity percentage must be less than 20% without references.
