PLAYFUL TRAINING/EXERCISE DESIGN SCALE: RELIABILITY STUDY

Abstract

The aim of this study is to adapt the “Game-Based Training/Exercise Design Scale” into Turkish culture as a measurement tool for evaluating individuals' game-based training/exercise design. The study group consisted of a total of 287 voluntary participants, including 124 women and 163 men. The original form of the scale consists of two subdimensions: "game-based design" (6 items) and "competitive design" (6 items). To test the reliability of the scale, Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) was conducted. As evidence of the scale’s reliability, Cronbach’s Alpha internal consistency coefficients were calculated. The CFA results indicated that, consistent with the original form, the Turkish version of the scale also consists of two subdimensions (game-based design and competitive design) with a total of 12 items. The reliability assessment of the scale was conducted using internal consistency coefficients, followed by an analysis of item-total correlations to provide evidence for item discrimination. The goodness-of-fit indices obtained from CFA were found to be x²/df (x² = 93.57, df = 48.23) = 1.94, RMSEA = .058, SRMR = .029, CFI = .98, and GFI = .95. The Cronbach’s Alpha values for the scale were determined as .89 for the game-based design subdimension, .85 for the competitive design subdimension, and .92 for the total scale score. Based on the findings, it can be concluded that the adapted Turkish version of the Game-Based Training/Exercise Design Scale is a valid and reliable measurement tool.

Oyunsal Antrenman/Egzersiz Tasarımı Ölçeği: Güvenirlik Çalışması

Abstract

Araştırmanın amacı, bireylerin oyunsal antrenman/ egzersiz tasarımı değerlendirilmesi için bir ölçme aracı olarak “Oyunsal Antrenman/ Egzersiz Tasarımı Ölçeği’nin Türk kültürüne uyarlamasını yapmaktır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunda 124’ü kadın, 163’ü erkek olmaz üzere toplam da 287 gönüllü katılımcı yer almıştır. Ölçeğin orijinal formu “oyunsal tasarım” (6 madde) ve yarışmacı tasarım” (6 madde) olmak üzere iki alt boyuttan oluşmaktadır. Ölçeğin güvenirliğini test etmek amacı ile Doğrulayıcı Faktör Analizi (DFA) yapılmıştır. Ölçeğin güvenirliğine kanıt olarak Cronbach’s Alpha iç tutarlılık katsayıları hesaplanmıştır. Yapılan DFA sonuçları, orijinal formla tutarlı olarak ölçek Türkçe versiyonunun da iki alt boyut (oyunsal tasarım ve yarışmacı tasarım) ve toplam 12 maddeden oluştuğunu göstermiştir. Ölçeğin güvenirlik değerlendirmesi iç tutarlık katsayısı ile hesaplanmış ardından madde toplam test korelasyonları da madde ayırt ediciliğine kanıt sağlamak amacı ile incelenmiştir. Araştırma kapsamında gerçekleştirilen Doğrulayıcı Faktör Analizi (DFA) uyum iyiliği indeks değerleri ise x2/sd (x2=93,57, sd=48,23) = 1,94, RMSEA= ,058, SRMR= ,029, CFI= ,98, GFI= ,95 olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Ölçeğe ilişkin Cronbach Alpha değerlerinin ise oyunsal tasarım alt boyutu için ,89, yarışmacı tasarım alt boyutu için ,85, ölçeğin toplam puanına ilişkin Cronbach Alpha değerinin ise ,92 olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Elde edilen bilgi ve bulgular ışığında Türk kültürüne uyarlanan Oyunsal Antrenman/ Egzersiz Tasarımı Ölçeği’nin geçerli ve güvenilir bir ölçme aracı olduğu söylenebilir.
