Abstract

Abstract
Germany has historically been a pioneering country in the fields of health and sports tourism through its diverse therapeutic recreation centers (Kurort-Kur resorts). This study examines the general structure, operating principles, distinctive features, and classification of Kur resorts in Germany. There are approximately 350 officially recognized Kurort-Kur resorts in Germany. These centers integrate healing practices based on the effective use of natural resources with modern treatment methods. Kurort-Kur resorts are typically defined as spaces where health services, sports activities, and natural therapies are combined. The contributions of these centers to health and sports tourism vary, focusing on the physical and mental well-being of individuals. Consequently, this study highlights the strategic importance of Kurort-Kur resorts in terms of health and sports tourism by providing a detailed structural and functional analysis.
