Abstract
Conjunctivitis is an infection of the conjunctiva, generally characterized by irritation, itching, foreign body sensation, tearing and discharge. Bacterial conjunctivitis may be distinguished from other types of conjunctivitis by the presence of yellow–white mucopurulent discharge. It is the most common form of ocular infection all around the world. Staphylococcus species are the most common bacterial pathogenes, followed by Streptococcus pneumoniae and Haemophilus influenza. Bacterial conjunctivitis is more common than the viral conjunctivitis in children. H. influenza, S. pneumoniae and moraxella species are common forms of the bacterial conjunctivitis. The treatment of patients with bacterial conjunctivitis consists of antimicrobial agents with a broad spectrum of activity against most susceptible pathogens. Abstract
Konjonktivit konjonktivanın infeksiyonudur. İrritasyon, kaşıntı,yabancı cisim hissi ve göz yaşarması ile karakterizedir. Genellikle diğer konjonktivitlerden sarı-beyaz mukopürülan akıntının varlığı ile ayırdedilebilir. Bakteriyel konjonktivit dünya üzerindeki oküler enfeksiyonların en yaygın sebebidir. Stafilokok türleri en sık bakteriyel etken olup, bunları Streptokok pneumonia ve Hemofilus influenza izler. Çocuklarda bakteriyel konjonktivitler viral konjonktivitlerden daha sıktır ve H. influenza, S. pneumonia ve moraksella türleri başlıca etkenlerdir. Bakteriyel konjonktivitli hastaların tedavisi muhtemel sorumlu patojenlere karşı etkili olan geniş spektrumlu antimikrobial ajanları içerir.
