Distortion product otoacoustic emissions and clinical significance of primary stimulus levels

Year 1995, Volume: 2 Issue: 1, - , 01.02.1995

Abstract

Otoacoustic emissions arc emitted acoustic energies J'rom the cochlea to the external car cunal vhich can be recorded by a sensitive microphone. It has heen ohserved that this acoustic energy stems J'rom the micromechanical activity of the oııter hair ce/ls. Distortion product otoacoustic emissions can he detected in ali normally hearing subjects hy presenting t o different Jrequencies and evoking a third different frequency. After a brief revie ahout otoacoustic emissions. a study uas presented vhich perj'ormed in 20 healtlıy subjects concerning different primary stimulus levels to elicit maximum distortion product otoacoustic emissions. /Journal of Turgut (hal Jedical Çenter 2(l):22-2~. 19951 Key words: Otoacoustic emission. distortion product otoacoustic enııssion

Distortion product otoacoustic emissions and clinical significance of primary stimulus levels

Year 1995, Volume: 2 Issue: 1, - , 01.02.1995

Abstract

Belirli şartlar altında kokleadaıı dış kulak yoluna doğru yayılan akustik enerjiye otoakustik emisyon denir ve hassas bir mikrofonla kaydedilebilir. Hu akustik enerjinin koklea dış saç hücrelerinin mıkromekanık aktivitesinden kaynaklandığı tespit edilmiştir. Distorsiyon prodakt otoakustik emisyonlar işitmesi norma! olanların tamamında elde edilebilen bir uyarılmış otoakustik emisyon çeşididir. İki farklı frekansta primer stimulusun simültane olarak kokleaya ulaştırılması ve kokleanın hu uyarıya stimuluslardan farklı frekansta verdiği cevaptır. Otoakustik emisyonlar hakkında genel hır bilgi ile beraber 20 sağlıklı kişide maksimum distorsiyon prodakt otoakustik emisyon oluşturan farklı primer stimulus seviyelerini araştırdığımız çalışmamız literatürdeki diğer çalışmalarla tartışılarak sunulmuştur. /Turgut Özal Tıp Merkezi Dergisi 2(I):22-2~'. 1995/ Anahtar kelimeler: Otoakustik emisyon, distorsiyon prodakt otoakustik emisyon
