Abstract
In this study, the local tolerance, reliability and effectiveness of 20 mg/day single dose tenoxicam was evaluated in a group of 40 patients with a mean age of 58 years. 16 of the group recovered and 12 of them had partial pain relief two weeks after application. 6 of the patients showed total failure and another 6 of them had increase in symptoms. The range of movements increased in %60 of the patients. Mild allergic reactions developed after injection in 4 patients. After 2 months, patients showed an increase in complaints and regressed to the symptoms of the first examination. 6 months after the first injection, it was either repeated once more or arthroscpic lavage and debridement were performed. These results reveal that single dose intra-articular injection is a reliable and locally tolerable method in short term but needs further study for evaluation of long term results. Abstract
Bu çalışmada gonartroz bulgularına sahip, ortalama 58 yaşında 40 hastaya bir NSAI ilaç olan tenoxicamın 20 mg/tek doz intra-artikuler uygulanmasının lokal tolerans, güvenilirlik ve etkinliğinin sonuçları değerlendirildi. İntra-artikuler tenoxicam enjeksiyonundan onbeş gün sonra hastaların 16 sında ağrıda büyük oranda iyileşme, 12 sinde iyileşme gözlendi. Hastaların 6 sı enjeksiyondan yarar görmedi kalan 6 sının ağrılarında artma gözlendi. Eklem hareket genişliği hastaların %60 ında arttı. Dört hastada enjeksiyon sonrası hafif lokal reaksiyon gelişti. Ancak hastaların iki ay sonraki muayenelerinde şikayetlerinin arttığı ve ilk muayene bulgularına doğru gerilediği gözlendi. İlk enjeksiyondan 6 ay sonra hastalara ya tekrar NSAI uygulamasına devam edildi veya artroskopik lavaj ve debridman uygulandı. Bu sonuçlarla tek doz İntra-artikuler tenoxicam enjeksiyonun lokal tolerans ve güvenilirlik yönünden uygulanabilir olduğunu ancak uzun süreli etkinlik yönünden yetersiz olduğu ve bu yönde çalışmalara devam edilmesi gerektiğini düşünmekteyiz.
