The Leader as a Professional and an Individual in Group Counseling

Abstract

In group counseling, there are various factors affecting the group dynamic, and the process. As one of the most important of these factors, the leader affects the group he leads both as a professional and an individual from the construction stage to the end by following a specific aim. As a professional, the leader affects the group in terms of the theoretical approach he adopted, his style in group management, his therapeutic skills, and whether or not he acts in accordance with his training and ethical rules. Moreover, he affects the group process considerably through his character and personal features. In the present study, the importance of leader education has been emphasized in psychological counseling and guidance.

Grupla Psikolojik Danışmada Bir Profesyonel ve Bir Birey Olarak Lider

Abstract

Grupla psikolojik danışmada grup dinamiğini ve süreci etkileyen çeşitli faktörler vardır. Bu faktörlerin en önemlilerinden birisi olan lider; yapılandırma aşamasından, belli bir hedef doğrultusunda ilerleyip sonlandırma aşamasına gelene kadar, yönettiği grubu hem bir profesyonel, hem de bir birey olarak etkiler. Lider bir profesyonel olarak; benimsediği kuramsal yaklaşımla, grup yönetiminde sergilediği tarzla, sahip olduğu terapötik becerilerle, aldığı eğitim ve etik kurallara uygun davranıp davranmamasıyla grubu etkiler. Ayrıca bir birey olarak sahip olduğu kişilik ve kişisel özellikleriyle de grup sürecini önemli oranda etkiler. Bu çalışmada psikolojik danışma ve rehberlik alanındaki uygulamalarda liderlerin eğitiminin önemi vurgulanmıştır.
