Investigation the Psychometric Properties of Aggression Questionnaire for Turkish Adolescents

Abstract

İnvestigation the psychometric properties of aggression questionnaire for Turkish adolescents. In this research, it was aimed to investigate the psychometric properties of the Aggression Questionnaire for Turkish adolescents and it was administered to the 450 students attending to all grades of two puclic high schools in Ankara. A serias of the confirmatory factor analysis was applied and it was observed that the three -factor model, specified for the 22-items Turkish form of the questionnaire, fit the data adequately with the fit indices of GFI=0.91, AGFI=0.89, RMSEA=0.052. It was observed that intercorrelations between the subscales of this form of the questionnaire changed 0.43-0.54. Also MANOVA results showed that the significant differences between gender groups was only found for the “psychical aggression” subscale. Cronbach α coefficients calculated for these measures changed between 0.62 and 0.83. Therefore, it can be said that the 22 items form of the questionnaire, gives valid and reliable measures to determine Turkish adolescents’ aggression tendencies.

Saldırganlık Ölçeği’nin Psikometrik Niteliklerinin Türk Ergenleri İçin İncelenmesi

Abstract

Bu araştırmada Buss ve Peryy (1992) tarafından geliştirilmiş olan Saldırganlık Ölçeği’nin Türk ergenleri için psikometrik niteliklerinin ayrıntılı olarak incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu doğrultuda ölçek, Ankara’daki iki devlet lisesinin tüm sınıf düzeylerinde öğrenim görmekte olan 450 öğrenciye uygulanmıştır. Yapılan bir seri Doğrulayıcı faktör analizi sonucunda ölçeğin 22 madde ve “öfke”, “fiziksel saldırganlık” ve “düşmanlık” olmak üzere üç faktörden oluşan formu için tanımlanan modelin, araştırma verisine GFI=0.91, AGFI=0.89, RMSEA=0.052 uyum değerleriyle yeterli düzeyde uyum sergilediği kabul edilmiştir. Alt ölçekler arası ilişkileri incelemek üzere hesaplanan korelasyon katsayılarının 0.43-0.54 arasında değişim gösterdiği görülmüştür. Ayrıca ölçeğin bu formundan elde edilen veriler üzerinde yapılan çok değişkenli varyans analizi sonucunda yalnızca fiziksel saldırganlık alt ölçeği puanları açısından cinsiyet farklılığının manidar düzeyde olduğu gözlenmiştir. Söz konusu ölçümlere ilişkin hesaplanan Cronbach α katsayıları ise 0.62- 0.83 arasında değişim göstermiştir. Bu sonuçlara dayalı olarak ölçeğin 22 maddelik formunun, Türk ergenlerin saldırganlık eğilimlerini belirlemek üzere geçerli ve güvenilir ölçümler sağladığı söylenebilir.
