Süt çocuğunun yineleyen epileptik olmayan bozukluğu: Sandifer sendromu

Abstract

Yineleyen epileptik olmayan bozukluklar (YEOB); bilinç değişikliği, morarma, tonik veya klonik kasılma gibi epileptik nöbetlerle benzer özellikleri paylaşan tekrarlayıcı durumlardır. Nöbet şüphesi ile ileri değerlendirme planlanan hastaların %20-25’inde YEOB bulunmaktadır (1). Epilepsiden ayırmada yaş, öykü ve video elektroansefalografi (EEG) gibi yardımcı incelemeler yol göstericidir (2). Doğru tanı konulamayan hastalar gereksiz inceleme ve tedaviye maruz kalabilmektedirler. Sandifer sendromu klasik olarak boyunda ekstansiyon, başın bir tarafa eğilmesi ve buna eşlik eden opistotonus ile seyreden bir YEOB’dir. Sandifer sendromu tanısı konan dokuz aylık bir erkek olgu süt çocuğunda epilepsi ayırıcı tanısına dikkat çekmek ve hastalığın klinik özelliklerini vurgulamak için sunulmaktadır.
