The Impact oF Migration on the Fact of Violence

Abstract

Violence, which is as old as human history, has been the subject of many scientific researches in different disciplines. The phenomenon of migration, which is as old as violence, has become one of the sociological topics of interest, especially with the increase in population movements during the industrial revolution and globalization. Population movements, which followed a period of intensive labor migration triggered by the need for labor force, gained a different dimension due to the economic crises experienced later, the decrease in the need for labor force, and the terrorist and violent incidents in which migrant individuals were involved. Migration, whose structure, variety and intensity have increased considerably in the modern period, has become a security problem after the terrorist incidents.
In this article, the relationship between migration and violence is examined, the impact of migration on the phenomenon of violence is discussed, and the general trend in the existing research in the literature is tried to be revealed. With the prediction that the phenomenon of migration will continue to increase in the future, it is emphasized that migration should be well understood. The importance of determining migration policies in the light of scientific findings and thus reviewing current wrong migration practices is emphasized. At the end of the article, it is concluded that the phenomena of migration and violence will provide ample data for researchers and that the research results in this field will have a high social and political impact and will be valuable.

GÖÇ VE TERÖRİZM İLİŞKİSİNİ DOĞRU ANLAMAK

Abstract

İnsanlık tarihi kadar eskilere dayanan şiddet, farklı disiplinlerde birçok bilimsel araştırmaya konu olmuştur. Şiddet kadar eski olan göç olgusu da özellikle sanayi devrimi ve küreselleşme sürecinde nüfus hareketlerinin artmasıyla birlikte ilgi duyulan sosyolojik konulardan biri haline gelmiştir. İşgücü ihtiyacının tetiklemesiyle bir dönem yoğun işgücü göçü olarak seyreden nüfus hareketleri, daha sonra yaşanan ekonomik krizler, işgücüne duyulan ihtiyacın azalması ve göçmen bireylerin karışmış oldukları terör ve şiddet olayları nedeniyle farklı bir boyut kazanmıştır. Modern dönemde yapısı, çeşidi ve yoğunluğu oldukça artan göçün, yaşanan terör olayları sonrasında bir güvenlik sorunu haline geldiği ifade edilmeye başlanmıştır.
Bu makalede göç ile şiddet ilişkisi irdelenmiş, göçün şiddet olgusu üzerindeki etkisi tartışılmış, alan yazında mevcut araştırmalardaki genel eğilimi ortaya konmaya çalışılmıştır. Göç olgusunun gelecekte artarak devam edeceği öngörüsüyle göçün iyi anlaşılması gerektiği vurgulanmıştır. Bilimsel bulgular ışığında göç politikalarının belirlenmesinin ve bu yolla mevcut yanlış göç uygulamalarının gözden geçirilmesinin önemi vurgulanmıştır. Makalenin sonunda göç ve şiddet olgularının araştırmacılar için bol veri sağlayacağı, bu alandaki araştırma sonuçlarının yüksek toplumsal ve politik etkiye sahip ve değerli olacağı kanaatine varılmıştır.
