Annual Catch Diary (2014-2015) of a Swordfish Fishing Vessel in Fethiye Region (Mediterranean)

Abstract

This study presents how to change the target fish during 2014 and 2015 in a swordfish fishing vessel in Fethiye region. The swordfish fishing fleet decreases year by year in the area and the vessels skip to other small-scale fisheries such as gillnetting, demersal longlining, rod and reeling, etc. Catch per unit effort (CPUE) values (148 kg/1000 hooks for 2014 and 218 kg/1000 hooks for 2015) shows that there is a still hope for stimulating of swordfish longlining in the area.

Abstract

Bu çalışma, Fethiye bölgesindeki bir kılıç balığı av teknesinin 2014 ve 2015 av sezonları boyunca hedef balık türlerinin nasıl değiştiğini ortaya koymaktadır. Bölgede kılıç balığı filosu yıldan yıla azalmakta ve tekneler uzatma ağları, dip paraketası, kamış olta, vb. gibi diğer küçük ölçekli av yöntemlerine geçiş yapmaktadır. Birim çabaya düşen av verileri (CPUE, 2014 yılı için 148 kg/1000 iğne; 2015 yılı için 218 kg/1000 iğne) bölgede kılıç paraketa balıkçılığının canlandırılması için hala bir umut olduğunu göstermektedir
