İZMİR (SMYRNA) AGORA KAZISI 2002-2003 YILLARI SİKKE BULUNTULARI

Abstract

Bu makalede, İzmir Arkeoloji
Müzesi tarafından yürütülen 2002-2003 yılları kazı çalışmalarında ele geçen
sikkeler hakkında bilgi verilecektir. İzmir (Smyrna)Agorası’nda 2002-2003 yılı
kazı sezonunda bulunan toplam 913 adet sikke incelenmiştir. Bu sikkeler
Agora’nın Kuzey Galeri (Bazilika) ve Batı Galerisinde yapılan çalışmalar
sonucunda ortaya çıkarılmıştır. 913 Adet sikkeden 13 Adeti Hellenistik Dönem’e
(M.Ö. 330-30); 52 Adeti Roma İmparatorluk Dönemi’ne (MÖ. 27- MS. 284); 699 Adeti
Geç Roma İmparatorluk Dönemi’ne (M.S. 284-498), 9 Adeti Bizans Dönemi’ne (M.S.
491-1453); 27 Adeti Osmanlı Dönemi’ne (M.S.1299-1923) ve 1 Adeti de Avusturya
İmparatorluk Dönemi’ne (M.S.1816) tarihlendirilmiştir. 112 Adet sikkenin ise
hangi döneme ait olduğu saptanamamıştır.
