Philosophy Broadcasting in Turkey from Radio to Podcast

Abstract

Radio broadcasting in Turkey began in the 1920s, but it is difficult to talk about radio up to 1991 due to various obstacles. Podcast broadcasting added to the history of radio in the 2000s. Due to their many similarities to radio, podcasts are considered an extension of radio and are being listened to by more and more people daily. In such an environment, philosophy became public and was included in daily life. Philosophy programs on radio and podcasts constitute the sample of this study. The research problem was created based on the need to provide a detailed framework for the increasing philosophy publishing in Turkey. The data was collected through internet archive pages. Due to some closed radio channels, the research was limited to internet recordings. The research of this study was designed in a qualitative pattern. Thematic analysis was applied in the research and focused on the historical process. In the study, the first two parts of philosophy publications were examined through themes and presented through graphics in order to understand the intention of publication. The main finding of the study is that 7 radio and 43 podcast programs broadcasting in the field of philosophy, which started on radio in 2000, have shifted from specialist broadcasters to individual broadcasters and the evolution of publications from the key concepts of the ‘quest for truth’, ‘love of wisdom’, ‘philosophy of religion’ to the key concepts of ‘courage’, ‘awareness’ and ‘enlightenment’.

Radyodan Podcaste Türkiye'de Felsefe Yayıncılığı

Öz

Türkiye’de radyo yayıncılığı 1920’lerde başlasa da 1991 yılına kadar radyo yayıncılığından bahsetmek zordur çünkü çeşitli engeller bulunmaktadır. Podcast yayıncılığı, daha esnek imkânlar sağlaması nedeniyle 2000’li yılların başında radyo tarihine dâhil olarak radyo yayıncılığını dönüştürmüş ve çeşitlendirmiştir. Radyo ile ortak noktalarının fazlalığı ve ses tabanlı veri oluşu sebebiyle podcast, radyonun devamı sayılmaktadır ve geniş kitlelerce her geçen gün sayısı artarak dinlenmektedir. Felsefe de böyle bir ortamda kamusallaşarak gündelik hayata dâhil olmuştur. Radyo ve podcastteki felsefe programları bu çalışmanın örneklemini oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın problemi, artan felsefe yayıncılığına yönelik detaylı bir çerçeve sunulmasının ihtiyacından hareketle oluşturulmuştur. Veriler, internet arşiv sayfaları üzerinden toplanmıştır. Bazı radyo kanallarının kapalı oluşu sebebiyle araştırma internet kayıtları ile sınırlandırılmıştır. Bu çalışmanın araştırması nitel desende tasarlanmıştır. Araştırmada tematik analiz uygulanmış ve tarihsel sürece odaklanılmıştır. Çalışmada felsefe yayınlarının ilk iki bölümü, yayın niyetinin anlaşılması amacıyla temalar üzerinden incelenerek grafikler üzerinden sunulmuştur. Çalışmada ulaşılan sonuçlar, 2000 yılında radyoda başlayan felsefe alanında yayın yapmış 7 radyo ve 43 podcast programının uzman yayıncılardan bireysel yayıncılara dönüştüğü ve değerlendirme bulgularına göre yayınların ‘hakikat arayışı’, ‘bilgelik sevdası’, ‘din felsefesi’ anahtar kavramlarından ‘cesaret’, ‘farkındalık’ ve ‘aydınlanma’ anahtar kavramlarına evrilmesidir.
