Abstract

Son 50 yıldır Osmanlı tarihi araştırmaları çok önemli aşamalar kaydetti. Artık Osmanlı tarihi sadece siyasi olayları ile değil, sosyal, ekonomik ve kültürel bakımdan da çok daha iyi biliniyor. Bununla birlikte Osmanlı tarih yazıcılığında prosopografik araştırmalar çok ihmal edilmiş bir çalışma alanı olarak göze çarpıyor. Halbuki Osmanlı İmparatorluğu'nun tarihinin sağlıklı bir şekilde değerlendirilebilmesi için olaylara yön veren tarihi şahsiyetler hakkında daha kapsamlı bilimsel çalışmalar yapılması ve onların tarihi olayların yön değiştirmesindeki rollerinin daha sağlıklı bir şekilde ortaya konulması elzemdir.
