Abstract

Kitaba 18. y.y.'da Osmanlı imparatorluğunun çöküntü veya değişim döneminde Filistin bölgesindeki idarenin tanımıyla giriliyor. Filistin coğrafi bölgesi o asırda Sidon (Sayda) eyaleti ve Şam'ın güney sancaklarından müteşekkildir. Mahalli nüfus guruplarının, eski hanedanların idareyi ne şekilde ele aldıkları ve bu ailelerin, statüleri inceleniyor. 18. yüzyılın, imparatorluğun her yanında bu gibi hanedanların yükseldiği bir dönem olduğu göze alınırsa, kitabın bu bölümünde ilginç bilgiler verildiği anlaşılır. Yazar Osmanlıca, Arapça kaynaklar yanında o çağın İbranice kaynaklarını ve malzemesini de kullanıyor.
