Abstract

Among its various activities, the Turkish Historical Society has always attached a great importance to excavation work. Coasidering the aims of our society, I think that its main concern is the study of every phase of Turkish History. Therefare in addition to our investigations of documents, we must make excavations and define the value of our findings in relation to the history of our country, since the early history of Anatolia is wrapped in a shroud of obscurity.
