The University Museum of Ankara began excavation at Fraktin near Develi and made explorations in the region of Anti-Taurus, specially in the area between Develi and SaimbeyIi. The staff of this expedition was the same as that that carried out excavations at the plain of Elbistan. As we wanted to learn the habitation conditions in this region, the members of expedition studied the ancient roads, which were closely linked to the seven passes in the Anti-Taurus mountains and also tried to deterrnine the strategic points, which dominated these roads and investigated the open settlements along the Samanti-River, belonging to the Hittite and Copper Age periods.
