Abstract

The aim of the excavation was to establish the factual value of the legend and local tradition claiming that this institution was a madrasa for teaching astronomy. The Madrasa was built in 1272 (H. 671) by Nür al Din Jibril ibn Jâja (Caca), governor of Kırşehir during the reign of the Saljuq emperor Giyâth al Din Kaykhusraw ibn Qilij Arslan.
