The Journal of Travel and Tourism Research (JTTR) is an international, double-blind peer-reviewed, open-access scientific journal published biannually by the Faculty of Tourism at Adnan Menderes University in Aydın. The journal aims to contribute to the accumulation of scientific knowledge by publishing high-quality original research in tourism and related interdisciplinary fields, to encourage theoretical and applied insights, and to focus on sustainable development and innovations in the sector. JTTR aims to make research addressing the economic, social, cultural, environmental, and managerial aspects of the tourism sector freely accessible worldwide by highlighting multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary studies; thereby contributing to the sustainable development of the sector by increasing knowledge sharing among academics, practitioners, and policymakers.
JTTR covers scientific articles that examine the positive and negative impacts of tourism, as a rapidly growing and evolving human activity, in economic, social, cultural, environmental, and other aspects from a multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary perspective. The journal accepts original research articles, literature reviews, theoretical studies, systematic reviews, and research notes, publishing works that inform new realities in tourism and related fields with the theoretical foundations of different disciplines. Topics within the scope include (but are not limited to): marketing management, innovation, sustainable development, economics, organizational behavior, consumer behavior, methodology, planning, policy development, strategic management, discrimination, education, future trends, the food industry, tourist destination studies, cultural heritage, environmental protection, digital transformation, and post-pandemic recovery. JTTR does not accept data slicing, previously published works, or simultaneous submissions; the peer review process begins only after confirming the novelty of the work and that it is unique to JTTR, and is conducted by at least two expert reviewers using a double-blind method.
