MÖ 7. BİNYILDA TEPECİK-ÇİFTLİK HÖYÜK’TE HAYVAN EKONOMİSİ’NİN GELİŞİMİ VE EVCİL SIĞIRIN İÇ ANADOLU PLATOSU’NDA ORTAYA ÇIKIŞI

Abstract

THE DEVELOPMENT OF ANIMAL ECONOMY IN TEPECİK- ÇİFTLİK HÖYÜK DURING THE 7TH MILLENNIUM BC. AND THE EMERGENCE OF DOMESTIC CATTLE ON THE CENTRAL ANATOLIA PLATEAU

Abstract

Tepecik-Çiftlik Höyük, on the southeast central Anatolian plateau, is a very important site since it is one of the few multi-period sites in the region. The on-going excavations indicate that the occupation at the site span between the Early Neolithic to the Late Roman/ Byzantine periods. This paper describes the results of archaeozoological research from the Early Neolithic layers undertaken from the deep trench 16K; between the VIIth -Vth Layers 70006350 BC. . Analysis of animal bones from the Layer VII as well as Level VI/V contexts provides the first evidence for clear changes in the animal economy at Tepecik-Çiftlik Höyük; to be exact the emergence of domestic cattle to the pastures of Tepecik-Çiftlik Höyük
