In the buildings belonging to the level V of the Maydos Kilisetepe Höyüğü, which is located on the European side of the Dardanelles Strait, 169 pieces decorated clay mural reliefs were found. The majority of the coatings were found in a single structure. The building was built with Western Anatolian architectural techniques. However, similar mural reliefs are not seen in Anatolian cultures in the 2nd millennium BC. Similar practices are evident along the land and river networks from Macedonia to Central Europe. In addition, some ceramic and small finds that are foreign to Anatolian culture, recovered in level V indicate that intercultural communication between the 2nd millennium BC was the most intense during this period
