Social Studies And The Young Learner Dergisinde Yayımlanan Araştırmaların İncelenmesi (2000-2023)

Year 2024, Volume: 9 Issue: 1, 34 - 49, 31.05.2024

Abstract

Bu araştırmada, “Social Studies and the Young Learner” dergisinde 2000-2023 yılları arasında yayımlanan makaleler incelenmiştir. İlgili araştırmanın amacı, mevcut dergide yayımlanan makaleleri inceleyerek, sosyal bilgiler eğitimine yönelik çalışılması ve araştırılması gereken konulara yönelik ışık tutmaktır. Nitel araştırma yönteminin tercih edildiği araştırmada döküman incelemesinden faydalanılmıştır. Araştırmanın verilerini Social Studies and the Young Learner dergisinde 2000-2023 yılları arasında yayımlanan 567 makaleden özet ve tam metnine ulaşılan 388 makale oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma verileri içerik analizi ile çözümlenmiştir. Araştırmadan elde edilen veriler dergide en fazla makalenin 2006 ve 2009 yıllarında yayımlandığını göstermektedir. Makale çalışmalarının yapıldığı ülkeler arasında ABD’nin ilk sırada yer aldığı ve araştırmaların çalışma grubunun çoğunlukla ilkokul öğrencilerinden oluştuğu saptanmıştır. Araştırmanın bir diğer bulgusu ise dergide yayımlanan makalelerin ağırlıklı olarak vatandaşlık ve tarih konularına yönelik olduğudur. Dergide yer alan diğer araştırma konuları sınıf yönetimi, öğretim stratejileri, öğretim programı değerlendirme, hizmet öğrenme projeleri, okul dışı öğretim yöntemleri, değer eğitimi, demokrasi eğitimi, göçmen eğitimi, coğrafya eğitimi, çevre eğitimi, özel eğitim, öğretmen eğitimi, drama eğitimi, barış eğitimi ekonomi eğitimi, disiplinlerarası öğretim, kültürel farkındalık, edebi ürün kullanımı, toplumsal kimlik/roller/cinsiyet/değişim, okuryazarlık ve düşünme becerileri olarak belirlenmiştir. Dergideki makale çalışmalarının genel eğilimleri incelenerek yeni çalışmalar üretilebilir.
