Turkish Academy of Sciences Journal of Cultural Inventory (TÜBA-KED) was launched in 2003 to document, promote and protect cultural heritage. The journal is published twice a year, in June and December, and is an internationally refereed and open access academic publication.
The journal includes scientific articles from different fields such as archaeology, ethnography, art history, architectural history, industrial archaeology and cultural landscapes that deal with tangible and intangible cultural assets. The journal is open to studies on the assessment, documentation, conservation, restoration and exhibition of cultural heritage and aims to provide a platform for interdisciplinary discussions.
TÜBA, an autonomous institution established with the aim of developing and promoting science in Türkiye, operates in a wide range of fields including basic sciences, engineering, health and life sciences, and social and human sciences. TÜBA continues the academic tradition with its historical roots dating back to the Society of Scholars founded in 1851. In addition, TÜBA encourages and disseminates scientific studies and ensures their continuation in cooperation with universal scientific circles.
TÜBA-KED is based on the principles of scientific ethics throughout the publication process, and the submitted manuscripts are meticulously evaluated by a two-way anonymous refereeing system, based on criteria such as originality, contribution value and methodological consistency. We are sensitive to unethical practices such as plagiarism, omission of references and violations of scientific responsibility.
Emphasis is placed on sharing information openly and transparently, and documents with a broad scope such as inventories and academic studies containing comprehensive analysis and evaluation of cultural heritage are published. Thus, a reliable resource is provided for researchers, practitioners and all stakeholders working in the field of cultural heritage.
TÜBA-KED is published in line with a publication policy that aims to document cultural heritage on scientific grounds, to transfer the collective memory of society to future generations and to strengthen the academic accumulation in this field.
