Arapça yazılmış el yazma kitaplarının Ortaçağ'dan başlayarak dünya bilim ve kültür tarihinde önemli rolü olmuştur. Bu zengin irsin oluşumunda sadece Araplar değil, Hilafete dahil olan tüm halkların, dolayısıyla Türk bilim adamlarının da önemli katkıları olmuştur. Ülkemizdeki kütüphanelerde ve şahsi koleksiyonlarda bu el yazmaların büyük bir kısmı korunarak okurların hizmetine sunulmaktadır. Ne yazık ki, bilimin tüm dalları için kaynak oluşturan bu eserlerin çoğu yeterince araştırılmamış, kataloglaştırılmamış, hazırlanan kataloglar da yeterli bilgi ile donatılmamıştır. Bu makalede Ortaçağ'da dünya bilim adamları tarafından yazılan bu el yazmaların tüm özellikleri ve bilimsel değeri açıklanmaya çalışılmıştır.
Arabic manuscripts played an important role in the history of science and culture since Middle Ages. This is not only Arabs but all other nations of Caliphate that gave significant contributions to formation of hereditary wealth and Turkish scientists were among them. Most of these manuscripts are preserved in libraries and in personal collections, being available for readers. Unfortunately these works that might be scientific source for all kind of academic fields have not been extensively studied and catalogs don't provide enough information on them.
