The aim of this study is to determine an analytical framework for the sustainable conservation and development of geological heritage in Turkey. This analytic framework is depended on the conceptual and institutional analyses which are composed on the examination of the international and national legislative documents, guides, the scientific project reports, and successful implementation cases. As a result of this study, it is proposed a road map consists of five components. The first, it should be classified and defined the conservation status for geological heritage. Secondly, it should be determined the principles of conditions of conservation–use in the context of the planning–implementation works. Thirdly, it is to be prepared a stakeholders plan depending on broad participation and collaboration. Fourthly, it should be organized a holistic site management model which takes consideration with the geological heritage sites and its hinterland in the context of spatial, functional and socio–economic. Finally, it should be set a budget program includes financial opportunities such as the tech supports and funding programs. It is expected that this study can be contributed to conservation strategies which include to the planning, implementation and management works focused on geological heritage sites in Turkey in methodological framework.
