Kamusal
alanda mekan kalitesi araştırmasını amaçlayan bu çalışmada İstanbul Eminönü’nde yer alan Yeni Cami ve çevresi,
Eminönü Meydanı, Mısır Çarşısı ve Mahmutpaşa bölgesi incelenmiştir. Yöntem olarak alan araştırması, literatür
taraması ve anket çalışması kullanılmıştır. Eminönü bölgesindeki çalışma alanının konumu, tarihi değişimi, fiziksel
yapısı incelenmiştir. Çalışmanın sonucunda çalışma alanında yapılan anketler değerlendirilerek kamusal alan ve
kullanıcı ilişkisinin ortaya konması amaçlanmıştır.
The physical and social environment that the individual is in contact is seen as an indoor and outdoor experience in
architectural space design. Accordingly, outdoor quality influences the public space experience about the relationship
between the individual and the society and the environment. Public spaces can be thought of as community’s
socialization areas, spaces where they spend their daily lives, or spaces where they gather at certain times (holidays,
events, etc.). In this study, aiming to examine the quality of the public space, New Mosque and its vicinity in Istanbul
Eminönü, Eminönü Square, Spice Bazaar and Mahmutpaşa regions have been examined. Site survey, literature
survey, and questionnaire have been used as methods. The location, historical change, and the physical structure of
the investigation site in Eminönü region have been examined. As a result of the study, it is aimed to reveal the relation
between the public space and the user by evaluating the results of the survey made in the study area.
