Plants Affecting The levels of Blood Glucose Distribution in Turkey
Abstract
The aim of this study is to identify a variety of plants being used for the treatment of diabetes in our country. Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a life-long chronic disease caused by insufficient insuline production or inactive usage of secreted insuline. According to the literature search, it has been shown that several plants are in usage as an antidiabetic in traditional folk medicine. The incidence of diabetes mellitus is 8% in the whole population. Herbal drug ingredients have been in use among public for a long time period. There are more than 375 plants that are in usage for the treatment of DM worldwide. According to the recent publications, there are 69 antidiabetic plants in our country
