Year 2024, , 137 - 150, 31.10.2024
https://doi.org/10.7460/turar.1519016

Abstract

Nowadays, people have realized that mental health is as important as physical health. It is known that tourism activities have positive effects on people, especially getting away from the current environment for a while, seeing new places, having different experiences and socializing. It has become very important for tourism to be accessible to all segments of society rather than a luxury. In this context, the need to attach importance to and develop social tourism emerges. This study aims to see the development process of publications on social tourism from past to present and the gaps in the literature. For this purpose, data was obtained from the Web of Science (WoS) database and it was aimed to examine these data through bibliometric analysis. VOSviewer program was used to analyze the data obtained. In July 2024, 313 publications were found in Web of Science with the keyword “social tourism”. It was determined that the first publication was made in 1977 and Scott McCabe was the most published author. It was determined that the publications were mainly scanned in SSCI (136) and ESCI (106) indices in Web of Science. As a result of the keyword analysis the most used keywords are “social tourism” (117), “tourism” (44), “accessible tourism” (14), “disability” (14), “well-being” (10) and “accessibility” (10).

SOSYAL TURİZM ÜZERİNE BİBLİYOMETRİK BİR ANALİZ

Year 2024, , 137 - 150, 31.10.2024
https://doi.org/10.7460/turar.1519016
