Abstract
Özet: Transseksüellik psikoloji, sosyoloji, felsefe, hukuk gibi farklı disiplinlerin ilgi alanına giren çok boyutlu bir durumdur. Çağdaş tıp çerçevesinde geliştirilen cinsiyet değiştirme prosedürleri, bu durumun tıbbın ve dolayısıyla tıp etiğinin gündeminde giderek daha fazla yer almasına yol açmaktadır. Transseksüellik bu kısa denemede canlılık, beden, kültür, kişilik, kimlik kavramları ile bağlantıları üzerinden ele alınmıştır.

Abstract: Transsexuality is a complex situation that different disciplines such as psychology, sociology, philosophy, and law are interested in. The gender reassignment procedures developed within the framework of contemporary medicine cause this situation to take place more and more on the agenda of medicine and therefore medical ethics. In this short essay, transsexuality is discussed through its connections with the concepts of life, body, culture, personhood, and identity.
