Abstract

Marmara University Faculty of Communication hosted Türkiye’s first public diplomacy symposium, the 1st Public Diplomacy Symposium (KADİS), on May 9–10, 2025. The event aimed to bring together academics, experts, and practitioners working in the field of public diplomacy to explore current developments and approaches, and to foster new discussions in the discipline. Held under the theme "Public Diplomacy in the Era of Transformation and Türkiye", the symposium provided a comprehensive platform for interdisciplinary dialogue. KADİS stood out with its inclusive range of topics and diverse participant profile. Supported by the Presidency's Directorate of Communications and Anadolu Agency, the symposium positioned Türkiye as the focal point while critically examining the impact of global transformations on the practice of public diplomacy. Topics such as shifting international dynamics, digital diplomacy, cultural exchange, and strategic communication were addressed from multiple perspectives.

I. Kamu Diplomasisi Sempozyumu: Dönüşüm Çağında Kamu Diplomasisi ve Türkiye, 09-10 Mayıs 2025

Abstract

Marmara Üniversitesi İletişim Fakültesi, kamu diplomasisi alanında çalışan akademisyen, uzman ve uygulayıcıları bir araya getirmek, alandaki güncel yaklaşımları ve gelişmeleri keşfetmek ve yeni tartışmaları teşvik etmek amacıyla 09-10 Mayıs 2025 tarihlerinde Türkiye’nin ilk kamu diplomasisi sempozyumunu gerçekleştirdi. Dönüşüm Çağında Kamu Diplomasisi ve Türkiye temasıyla düzenlenen I. Kamu Diplomasisi Sempozyumu (KADİS), katılımcı profili ve ele alınan konuların çeşitliliği bakımından kapsayıcı bir etkinlik oldu. Cumhurbaşkanlığı İletişim Başkanlığı ve Anadolu Ajansı’nın da desteklediği KADİS’te, pergelin sabit ayağı Türkiye’ye yerleştirilerek, küresel dönüşümlerin kamu diplomasisi alanına etkileri farklı açılardan sorgulandı.
